I updated WatchBot website a little bit, adding some new filtering/navigation options which make it possible to reach older games. Also, it is now possible to follow WatchBot on Twitter.
Navigating player history
It is now possible to see and download more than one page of given player games. If you are logged in, and search for some player using [standard search form], there will be Prev/Next navigation available. You can go deep as far as you like.
Note: to login you must create a password. Do it on FICS, just spawn your BabasChess, Thief, Jin, Decaf, Eboard, or whichever FICS client you like, connect, then issue the following command on the console:
tell WatchBot password MySecretPassword
(of course substitute something instead of MySecretPassword).
Date filtering
On the advanced search form it is now possible to specify the date range - so, for example, you can look for games someone played in December 2008.
Note: in this case only first 20 games are reported (whether you are logged in, or not), and there is no navigation (I am still concerned about peformance of my tiny machine), so it is usually good idea to apply narrow range.
WatchBot on Twitter
It is now possible to follow WatchBot on Twitter. Two things are published there:
- notifications about interesting games (the same games which have been available as RSS feed for about a year),
- links to WatchBot-related posts on this blog.
Note: this is an automated account, it will not follow you back, or respond to your messages. For such purposes you can try following or contacting me.
